Man Chun Yu

Violinist

Man Chun Yu holds a master's degree in Violin Performance from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. His solo performance experience include participation in public master classes with renowned violinists like Linus Roth, Tamsin Waley-Cohen, Jennifer Pike, and Marina Chiche, along with awards in both local and national competitions. Notable chamber music performances feature collaborations with eminent artists such as Robin Ireland and Pierre Doumenge. He has also been part of major orchestral projects at the conservatoire, some of which were livestreamed and recorded by BBC Radio 3. His professional orchestra experience includes performing with renowned ensembles like the Welsh National Opera, Halle, and Ulster Orchestra.


Leung Shing Kwan

Violinist

Leung Shing Kwan, Jim is a graduate from the Royal Academy of Music where he finished his Master of Arts and Bachelor of Music degrees (Hons.).

Jim is a keen orchestral player and has performed across numbers of countries such as UK, USA, Austria, Italy, China, Japan, Singapore, etc. He performed in concert halls including the Royal Festival Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Cadogan Hall, Suntory Hall, Hong Kong Cultural Centre Grand Theatre, etc. He was selected to perform in Pacific Music Festival in 2018 where he worked under the baton of Valery Gergiev and with orchestra members from Berlin Phil, Vienna Phil, Chicago symphony, and MET Opera. He also gave solo and chamber concerts around London as string quartet and trio in places such as the O2 and numbers of churches during his time of study. He had been concertmaster of both String Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra for four years during his secondary school and he was also involved in HKYSO and MYO of Hong Kong. Jim studied with Mr. Fan Ting since the age of four. After graduation from secondary school, he moved to London and studied with Giovanni Guzzo and Michael Foyle at the Royal Academy of Music. He is now working as freelance violinist among orchestras in Hong Kong including Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Inheritage Philharmonic, Opera Hong Kong, Hong Kong String Orchestra, etc.


Christy Cheung 

Violist

Christy Cheung, born in Hong Kong, is a versatile violinist and violist. She began her violin studies at the age of four and holds a Bachelor of Music (Honours) degree from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, as well as a Master of Arts (Performance) from the Royal Academy of Music, specialising in violin and viola. Her notable teachers include Michael Ma, Mayumi Fujikawa, Gian Paolo Peloso, and Martin Outram.

Christy has actively participated in chamber music and orchestral performances. Her ensemble groups were coached by esteemed quartets such as the Shanghai Quartet and the Orion String Quartet, and they performed at the prestigious 38th Shanghai Spring International Music Festival. She has had the privilege of working with renowned conductors including Jaap Van Zweden, Lio Kuokman, Yip Wing Sie, Edward Gardner, John Wilson, and Robert Farkas.

Christy has also enriched her musical journey through various workshops and festivals abroad. She was a participant in Collegium Musicum in Germany, directed by Jeno Nyari and coached by Jenoe Koppandi and Eva Bindere. Additionally, she attended the Sommermusik Im Oberen Nagoldtal and took part in master classes by distinguished musicians such as Zohrab Tadevosyàn, Alexandra Korobkina, Nathaniel Vallois, Daniel Phillips, Igor Yuzefovich, Alexander Sitkovetsky, Adrien La Marca, and Zhang Man Chin.

Currently, Christy Cheung serves as a freelance member of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta and the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong.


Erica Wong

Cellist

Erica Wong began studying cello from an early age with Juanita Wong under the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts Junior Music Programme. She is now studying with the support of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholarships for a Bachelor of Music (Honours) Degree with Ray Wang at the Academy. Erica is an active performer, having played in master classes by distinguished cellists such as David Strange, Rhonda Rider, Giovanni Gnocchi, and Trey Lee. She has appeared as soloist with the Academy Symphony Orchestra. She also participates enthusiastically in orchestral and chamber activities, having joined music camps including the Pacific Cello Orchestra, the European Music Institute Vienna, the Hong Kong Youth Philharmonia, and the Hong Kong Music Summer Orchestra. Erica achieved distinction in LTCL in 2017 and has received several awards in the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival Cello Solo and Sonata categories. She placed second with her piano trio in the chamber category of the 2021 Hong Kong Generation Next Arts Competition.


Crystal Li

Pianist

Crystal is a classical pianist, specialising in chamber music, duo playing, and songs accompaniment. As a duo partner, she is in great demand, working with musicians from different parts of the world including European countries, North America and Asia for recordings, master classes, competitions, and concerts. She participated in master classes and lessons by Helmut Deutsch, Robert Cohen, and Nancy Zhou, to name a few.  Her repertoires ranging from baroque to contemporary, and vocal to instrumental. She also expanded much of her brass repertoire as she was invited to play in the BBC Young Musician and International Trombone Festival Japan.

After obtaining a bachelor's degree in English and a master's degree in Music from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, she further her studies and obtained a master's degree with distinction at the Royal Academy of Music, majoring in Piano Accompaniment under the tutelage of Professor Ian Brown, alongside the LRAM. Her mentors also include Professor Andrew West, Mr. Chan Sze-yau, Ms. Nancy Loo, Dr. Letty Poon, Mr. Hung Lap, and Ms. Vickie Chung. Recently she collaborated with Bel Canto Singers in an oratorio production, Elijah.
