Chamber Music with Piano by Chopin and Ravel - Concert I
The concert series features two prominent figures in the realm of classical music: Chopin, a gifted virtuoso whose singing voice graces the melody, and Ravel, the urbane patriot whose colours mesmerise even the rising sun.
Pianist Cindy Ho, violinist Ruda Lee, and cellist Jiyoung Choi will join forces to present this inaugural concert of chamber music with piano, showcasing some of the most celebrated works by these two masters, including Chopin's Cello Sonata and Ravel's Violin Sonata, alongside other virtuosic pieces.

Ruda Lee
Internationally acclaimed violinist Ruda Lee made her concerto debut at just 6 years old, winning the World Symphony Orchestra Competition. Born in Seoul, she achieved significant success early on, earning numerous awards, including the Seoul President Award and the Strad Magazine Award. In 2014, she performed a winner recital at Carnegie Hall and participated in the 2015 J.F.Kennedy Center Honors Gala, sharing the stage with Yo-Yo Ma and Pamela Frank, with President Obama in attendance.
Ruda received a full scholarship to Yale University School of Music and served as co-concertmaster of the Yale Philharmonia, touring with maestro John Adams. She has performed with renowned conductors like Valery Gergiev and collaborated with esteemed artists such as Kyung-Wha Chung and the Tokyo String Quartet.
As a versatile soloist and chamber musician, Ruda has performed at prestigious festivals worldwide, including Tanglewood and the recent Vivaldi Festival 2023 in Venice, where her interpretations of Vivaldi’s concertos were highly praised. Currently, she is the Artistic Director of ‘Virtuoso Fiesta’ and ‘Young Virtuosi HK,’ focusing on innovative approaches to classical music. Ruda is now embarking on a project aimed at transcending boundaries and connecting the world through music.
Jiyoung Choi
Jiyoung Choi is a distinguished cellist with an impressive educational background, holding a Master of Musical Arts and a Master of Music from Yale School of Music, where she studied under Aldo Parisot and Ole Akahoshi. She began playing cello at eight and made her solo debut at ten. Notable performances include the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall during the Young Talents World Festival in 2018. Jiyoung has won multiple competitions, including the Chamber Music Competition at Yale and various awards in Korea.
As a chamber musician, she is a member of the Bene Trio, which has garnered accolades at international competitions. At Yale, she participated in numerous concerts and recordings, including contemporary works by faculty composers. Jiyoung has performed across Europe, the USA, and Asia, showcasing her talent at festivals and outreach concerts.
Since 2019, she has served as a section cellist for the Korean National Symphony Orchestra and held principal roles in various orchestras, including the Yale Philharmonia. Jiyoung has collaborated with renowned conductors and performed in significant premieres, further establishing her reputation in the classical music community.
Cindy Ho
An active soloist and chamber musician, Hong Kong born Steinway Artist Cindy Ho performs internationally. Highlights in recent years include concerts at Wiener Konzerthaus and Carnegie Hall as part of the 20th Anniversary of the establishment of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region 2017.
In 2016, she was awarded the Associate of Royal Academy of Music (ARAM) for her contribution in music. She also received the Paul Creston Award 2017 in New York.
As the music director of Vantage Music, Cindy organised and performed in recital series since 2015 in Hong Kong and overseas. Programmes spanned a wide range of chamber music works which included Medtner’s complete Sonatas for Violin and Piano.
A graduate of Royal Academy of Music and King’s College London, Cindy is currently the Chairperson of the Royal Academy of Music HK Alumni Association. She founded Young Musicians Series, a concert series providing young and outstanding soloists and chamber ensembles more performing opportunities. She also founded Vantage Music and magazine Vantage in promoting classical music in Hong Kong and the surrounding regions, especially for the new generation of Asia-based international artists.
Cindy’s teachers include Choi Sown Le, Ruth Nye, Aaron Shorr and Alfred Lee.
