Corps extrêmes

A gravity-defying work performed between the earth and the sky

Described by Le Monde as “a meditation on risk, vertigo and fear”, Rachid Ouramdane’s Corps extrêmes (Extreme Bodies) explores the human desire for weightlessness through an exhilarating mix of dance, acrobatics and extreme sports. On stage, a community of extraordinary freedom lovers – aerial artists, acrobats, a highliner and a climber – weave a gravity-defying meditation on physical virtuosity, and the peace and mental clarity derived from flirting with the void.

Intimate yet larger than life, the performance features projections, spoken word and a musical score by Jean-Baptiste Julien, and reveals an existential human experience anchored in reality and suspended in the world of dreams. In 2023, The New York Times named Corps extremes one of the best performances of the year.
