Georges Bizet’s first opera, Le docteur Miracle, embodying the style of mid-19th century France, was written when he was just 18. In 2024, this one-act comic opera premiered at the Guangzhou Opera House in a world-premiere immersive version, featuring a new chamber score and contemporary in-the-round staging, catering to audiences of all ages. It has been awarded funding by China National Arts Fund (General Programme) for 2025.

In 2023, the opera of the same title was performed at French May in Hong Kong.
