Don’t miss an unforgettable evening of music featuring the remarkable Cantopop star Jay Fung and the wonderful French singer Joyce Jonathan. With the creative power of renowned Music Consultant Chiu Tsang Hei and Creative Consultant Jacky Lee, together with a special feature by the remarkable violinist Wang Liang, this original and exciting concert is sure to entertain all. 

As a rich cross-cultural presentation of musical styles, the evening will also inspire cultural connection and understanding. With performances in Chinese, English and French, Echoes of the Heart is sure to bring the joyous beat of music to the city.  

Echoes of the Heart is a First Initiative Foundation (FIF) ‘DARE with Flair’ charitable outreach initiative. Co-presented by French May, the concert showcases the power of music for global cultural connection. FIF works proactively in support of the arts, music, education and mentorship to uplift Hong Kong locally and on the world stage.


Jay Fung

Covering diverse subject matters and musical styles, Jay Fung’s Cantopop music blends US/European elements, while his fluent and spontaneous interpretations and delicate emotional interpretations have established his signature musical style, based on powerful vocals. Whether it’s a sweet love ballad or an emotional song, songs by Jay Fung are able to touch the hearts of his audience, which explains his fans’ adoration for him.

Since joining Media Asia Music in 2018, Jay has released six albums and had two solo concerts total six shows at the Hong Kong Coliseum. In the concerts, he showcased his many talents, including dancing, drumming, playing the harmonica, piano and guitar. Demonstrating various capabilities and stage charisma, Jay is recognised as one of the most powerful male singers in Hong Kong today.

Jay has been a passionate singer and songwriter since he was young. He taught himself to play the guitar at 13, and started writing songs at 17. Jay regularly collaborates with different singers and groups, and in different forms. This has resulted in a lot of amazing music and spectacular performances. He often writes songs for other singers, many of which have become hits and won awards.  In his endless pursuit to break through and challenge himself, his songs are in a wide range of genres. He has won various accolades in music awards every year, including awards as singer-songwriter, male singer and for his songs.


Joyce Jonathan

Joyce Jonathan is a French singer-songwriter who has enchanted audiences with her heartfelt melodies and poignant lyrics. She is celebrated for her soulful contributions to the chanson and French pop genres, seamlessly blending emotional storytelling with melodic pop sensibilities. With a career that began in her teens, she quickly stood out, garnering acclaim for her unique voice and introspective songwriting.

Joyce's impact on the music industry is nothing short of remarkable; her debut album Sur mes gardes was certified platinum mere months after its release, showcasing her ability to resonate deeply with her audience.

The success of her subsequent albums--Caractère (2013), Une place pour moi (2016), and On (2018)--continued to enrich her discography. As her career flourished, Joyce took part in larger tours, appeared at prominent venues, and was featured in various media outlets, marking her as an enduring presence in the music industry.


CHIU Tsang-hei

For almost last three decades, CHIU Tsang-hei has been one of the most celebrated names in Hong Kong’s music industry as an all-rounded and multi-talented musician: producer, composer, arranger, and event producer for Hong Kong and Asian artists and shows.  

Chiu has composed and produced many award-winning singles over the years, while he is also the musical director to concerts by many Asian big names including Koji Tamaki,  Andy Lau, Gigi Leung, George Lam, Liza Wang, Sally Yeh, to drop a few, making him the most sought-after music director in the industry.  

Apart from local concerts, Chiu has also been invited as composer, musical director and creative consultant of many important National events. In 2022, he is appointed to be the creative director of “Grand Variety Show in Celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Hong Kong’s Return to the Motherland”.   

He has also scored many Hong Kong movies, and was awarded Best Original Film Score at the Hong Kong Film Awards with “Comrades, Almost a Love Story”. His latest movie soundtrack work “ANITA” has also received nomination of the same award during 2022.  


Jacky Lee

With 24 years of extensive experience, Jacky has advanced from director to creative producer, showcasing a comprehensive production capability across film, music, advertising, and large-scale events.

As a key figure in the Chinese entertainment industry, Jacky has directed over 2,000 music videos in Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, earning accolades such as “Best Music Video Director” and the “Top Ten Advertising Awards” in Hong Kong, which established his commercial and artistic significance in visual storytelling.

His production portfolio includes more than 400 large-scale performances, featuring concerts by megastars like Miriam Yeung, Jolin Tsai, and Jay Chou. He also produced the HKSAR Anniversary Gala in 2017, along with various large-scale variety shows. His film works, including titles such as "Live in Flames", "A Time of Love", "Police Tactical Unit 2019" and "The Fatal Raid," further reflects his diversity.

Jacky has solidified his position as a leading producer in Hong Kong's entertainment industry, leveraging his creative and marketing expertise to continually drive innovation and influence.


Wang Liang

Wang Liang, currently the Second Associate Concertmaster of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. He was born into a musical family in Shenyang, China.

As one of the most popular violinists in Hong Kong, Wang has made numerous concerto appearances in major concerts. In May 2021, he was invited as a soloist in The Red Violin  movie-in-concert by Le French May Arts Festival with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. In October, he was also invited by The Chopin Society of Hong Kong — Joy Of Music Festival 2021, where he played the Saint-Saëns Violin Concerto No.3 and La Muse et le Poète. In 2023, he performed The Butterfly Lovers’ Violin Concerto with the Ponte Orchestra at the Hong Kong City Hall. Wang is also active in performing at various venues, having been invited to Tai Kwun, Hong Kong Palace Museum, Freespace, TeaHouse Theatre of Xiqu, S’way Recital Hall, Musica Del Cuore, and others.

Wang has appeared as a guest concertmaster with Macao Orchestra, Greater Bay Philharmonic Orchestra, In-heritage Philharmonic, Saigon Philharmonic Orchestra, Shenyang Symphony Orchestra, Central Conservatory Of Music Orchestra, Shaanxi Symphony Orchestra and Shanghai Summer Music Festival. In the summer of 2022, Wang was invited to be the soloist and concertmaster of the Young Musicians European Orchestra in Italy.

In addition to performing, Wang is passionate about music education and charity work. He has given masterclasses at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, and teaches as an adjunct faculty member at Music Department of Hong Kong Baptist University. He is currently the speaker for the 2024 ABRSM violin syllabus seminar hosted by ABRSM and Tom Lee Music. He is also the conductor of the St. Paul’s Co-educational College string orchestra and has been invited to be the member of Circle of Friends of First Initiative Foundation.

Wang Liang plays a 1788 Joseph Gagliano violin, donated by The Ladies Committee of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Society.
